I am always intrigued by a long list of "classic" books, so when I came across this list of books read by Rory Gilmore, or mentioned in the television show The Gilmore Girls, I couldn't help checking it out. I am not a big television watcher, but I know my sisters are all big fans of The Gilmore Girls, and the characters are supposed to be literature snobs.
I have read at least 56 of these titles. This list has given me some great ideas for titles and genres to review. Eloise by Kay Thompson, for example, I have read to my son probably two hundred times, and still enjoy reading. We are big fans of children's and young adult literature, and look forward to sharing some of our favorites.
The Jumping Frog, by Mark Twain, is a story that my father read to me as a young girl. I can still hear his inflection in my head when I read or remember this hilarious short story. I plan to review some of my other favorite read-aloud books.
Happy New Year! What titles are on your list for 2012?
